Wilma Sturkie Davis, 87, of West Columbia, died October 9, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Swansea First Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Wilder officiating.Burial will follow at Melrose Memorial Gardens in Swansea. Wilma was born in Swansea, a daughter of the late Ira Sturkie and the late Albert & Lottie Catoe.She retired from Lexington School District Four.She was a member of Swansea First Baptist Church for over eighty years, and served as church secretary for many years.Wilma was a lifelong Gamecock fan and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.Wilma was predeceased by her sister, Mary Ruth Jeffcoat and her step-brother, Haskell Catoe. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah (Roddy) Rucker, of Elloree, and son, Robbie (Linda) Davis, of Irmo; four granddaughters: Vickie (David) McGuire, Kristie (Clay) Carter, Beth (Tommy) Dowd, and Kelly (Todd) Sawyer; three grandsons:Steven (Erica) Davis, Reid (Kristen) Rucker, and Jim (Tina) Rucker; and 19 great-grandchildren: Brooke & Savannah McGuire, Kayla,Victoria, Davis & Taylor Carter, Tyler& Trevor Dowd, Hayden, Casi, Rucker & AbbyKrasselt, Eleese Sawyer, Ella Davis, Ryan & Jack Rucker, Jackson, Kentzler & Rowan Rucker and her sister, Sara Snell, of Cayce, and step-sister, Jean Smith, of Gaston; The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm Friday, October 10th at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North, SC (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com).
