William L. (Bill) Johnson, 79, of Gaston, died Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 27th, a Beulah United Methodist Church of Sandy Run with Rev. Matthew Rucker and Rev. Bruce Rucker officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.The casket will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Mr. Johnson was born in McCormick, SC, a son of the late Walter A. and Mary Crawford Johnson.He was retired from SCE&G at VC Summer Nuclear Station as an Electrical Engineer Associate.He was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church.Bill Johnson, better known as “Pops”, dedicated his life to his Lord, family and church.He spoiled his family through his selfless love. Survivors include his wife, Robin Garrett Johnson of the home; his children, Garrett (Robyn) Galloway, Sr. of West Columbia, Jennifer (Adam) Garrison of St. Matthews and Rusty Johnson and Bobby Roberson; grandchildren, Rhett, Alex, and Mary Kate Galloway, Emma Rucker, Grayson and Bethany Garrison; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Faye Garrett.He was predeceased by a son Scottie Johnson, a brother, Walter A. Johnson and a sister, Margie Hartin. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Friday at the church before the service at other times at the home, 393 Pineneedle Circle, Gaston, SCCuller-McAlhany Funeral Home in North is in charge of arrangements.
