Viola Inabinet Peel, 92, of Swansea, passed away on November 10, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on October 3,1930 in Swansea, SC. She was the oldest of two girls and three boys to the late Sam C. and Ravenel Inabinet.
Viola was a devoted employee at Stone Manufacturing Company for 50+ years, where she was a supervisor and oversaw operations at their multiple plant sites. She was valued by the company so much that she was asked to go to Jamaica to train and oversee the opening of their new plant. Viola was a member at Calvary United Methodist Church, where she served on UMW. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Peel enjoyed selling Avon to her customers for 40 years, where she reached the level of President’s Club. Viola will always be remembered for her famous Sunday meals. No matter what, she would always be in the kitchen, fixing her homemade biscuits with a meal to serve anyone who came through her door on Sunday afternoons. In her words, she would always say, “Honey, go grab a plate and fix it”.
Viola always treated others with kindness, dignity, and respect. Her greatest love and joy were her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Viola leaves behind her 3 daughters: Cathy Fields of Swansea, Debbie Peel Huggins (Johnny) of Pelion, Cindy Peel Rucker (David) of Lexington; her son, L.H. Peel, of Swansea; step-daughter, Marie Peel, of Cayce; son-in-law, Johnny Jeffcoat of Irmo; her two younger brothers, Rhett Inabinet and Sammy Inabinet; and a sister-in-law, Annette Berry. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren: Brian Jeffcoat, Michael Jeffcoat, Jamie Hooper, Lisa Coleman, Chance Hooper, Betsy Bouknight, Lee Williams, Hope Peel, Les Peel, Crystal Peel, Katie Harmon, Jesse Huggins, Jacob Huggins, Ryan Rucker, and Amy Moss; 30 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many special nieces and nephews. Mrs. Peel was pre-deceased by her husband, Horace Peel; son, David Peel; and daughter, Patricia Jeffcoat. We can only imagine what a reunion they are having in heaven.
