Truman Gilbert Wise

Truman Gilbert Wise, 91, of Swansea, S. C. passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.  Due to circumstances at home please refrain from calling land line.

Mr. Wise was born in Lexington County, a son of the late William Jacob Martin Wise and the late Bertha Mae Wise.  Mr. Wise ran a small residential/commercial painting and wallpaper company.  Truman was especially close to a nephew who considered him a second father. When his nephew lost his father at a young age, Truman and his family were there for him and spent a lot of time with him.  It developed into a special lifelong bond between the two that lasted up to Trumans passing and will continue with great memories.  He also was a Policeman in Swansea, a member of the Woodman of the World, Mason and Shriner.  He always provided for his family, was an avid Gamecock fan, always had a garden that he shared with everyone, loved to fish and loved all camping adventures.  He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Joyce Culler Wise; one daughter, Stella Wise; a son, Don Wise and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by seven siblings.

The family would like to thank his special caregiver, Gracie, for her loving and compassionate care.
