Troy Larry Gunter

Troy Larry Gunter, 76, of Swansea, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, June 22nd at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. H. Larry Jones officiating.A visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service. Mr. Gunter was born in Lexington County, a son of Burton and Myrtle Hoffman Gunter.Mr. Gunter was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, owner of Gunter Trucking, served as a firefighter in the US Forestry Service, a lifetime farmer, loved life and was an avid fisherman, holding the World Record for catching the largest shellcracker.He was as tough as they come and lived life his way.He was a loving Daddy and PaPa. Survivors include his wife, Janice Faye Gunter of the home; daughters, Angie (Glenn) Knight and Stephanie Bitsy Reynolds; step-children, Michelle Smith, Wesley Boone, Ray Boone, Kevin Myers, Jessica Livingston and Travis Myers; 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.Mr. Gunter was predeceased by his wife Beverly Woods Gunter.
