Stephen Owen Raulerson IV was welcomed into his eternal heavenly home on Wednesday, October 12, 2016.He was born on May 15, 1956 to Steve and Ruby Raulerson in Perry, Florida.He was predeceased by his father, Stephen Owen Raulerson III, his mother Ruby Lee Raulerson and his sister Catherine June Gebhart.He is survived by the first light of his life, his daughter Kayla (Brandon) Jackson and the second light of his life, his grandson, Owen Thomas Jackson.He is also survived by his ex-wife Cathy and her husband Lance, who was one of Steve’s faithful friends.He is survived by four sisters, Diane (Oneal) Ward, Gina Massey of Perry, FL, Santana Raulerson of Swansea, SC, Amanda Hitchcock, and 4 brothers Stanley, Kenneth (Deborah), Johnny and Paul (Sheila) Raulerson all of Swansea, SC.He also had many nieces, nephews and extended family. Steve, or Stevie, Nasty or Swamp Man, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was a generous, giving person.He volunteered with the Lexington County Fire Department, starting as a teenager and retired as the Swansea Volunteer Fire Chief in 2011 after over 20 years of service.He was a life-long member of Faith Baptist Church in Swansea.He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of many hunting clubs over the years, including Raulerson Camp, Ft. Motte, Community, Green Swamp and St. Matthews still hunting club.He worked in the maintenance mechanic field at Amazon Distribution Center in West Columbia, SC. Steve never met a stranger, or passed up a chance to help someone in need.He enjoyed life and was a hard-working man and a very devoted father and grandfather.His family was his entire life.He was the oldest brother of the family and always felt like it was his job to check up on everybody and make sure they were ok. His happy place was in Keaton Beach, FL where he hunted, fished, scalloped and cut swamp cabbage, but mostly visiting with relatives who live there.He was a real jokester and always had a tall-tale or big fish story.He loved life. The family will receive friends Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Swansea First Baptist Church in Swansea with Rev. Terry Wilder officiating.Pallbearers will be nephews.Burial will be in the Trinity Methodist Church Cemetery in North.Culler-McAlhany (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union, 1835 South Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29073 for the account of Owen Thomas Jackson
