Sharon Hutto Marks, 62, has been reunited in heaven with her loving parents James C. “Buck” Hutto and Marjorie Mack Hutto.Born March 25, 1953, she passed away peacefully at home June 3, 2015. She was the devoted mother of two daughters, Kathleen Marks Johnson (Robert Ballentine) and Sarah Marks Dugan (Jeremy).She was beloved “Nonnie” to her grandchildren, Gracie and Soren Johnson. She is survived by her former spouse and friend, Marion Marks, her children, grandchildren, sisters, Fran Bobbitt (Jimmy), Alison St. Clair (Jim) and brother Jim Hutto (Peggy); nieces, Rebecca and Natalie Bobbitt, nephew, Brian Hutto and her faithful Chihuahua, “Mimi”. She was a graduate of the University of South Carolina, receiving a BS degree in Political Science.She enjoyed feeding her backyard birds and tending to her flowers.She especially loved the beauty of nature.A gifted writer and talented pianist, she taught many students over the years.She had a true appreciation for Civil War and World War II history.Sharon will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Gaston First Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Paulling officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM before the service at the church and other times at 147 Gaston Street, Gaston, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the 82nd Airborne Division Historical Society, Inc., P. O. Box 70119, Fort Bragg, North Carolina 28307.
