Ruby Taylor Mack, 88, of North, SC passed away March 15, 2016.Born in Laurens County, she was the daughter of the late James and Mamie Bryant Taylor and a graduate of Laurens High School.Ruby was enrolled in the United States Cadet Nurse Corps training program at Baptist Hospital in 1945 when she met the love of her life. They were married in North.She was employed as a bookkeeper at Reed’s, Inc. for over 30 years.After leaving Reed’s, she was in charge of operations at Bill Mack Supply Co., Inc. for the next three decades.A member of Bull Swamp Baptist Church, she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bill Benjamin Mack.She is survived by her son, Larry B. Mack and his wife, Brenda of Columbia; daughter, Faye M. Buddin and her husband, Mike of Irmo; grandchildren, Kevin (Ashley) Lindler and Lori Mack of Columbia, Heather (Walker) Suits of Travelers Rest, Nicole (Brian) Craft of Turbeville and Michelle Buddin of Irmo; six great-grandchildren, Orie, Bradley, and Anna Louise Lindler of Columbia; Hayden, Carolina and JennaLyn Craft of Turbeville and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruby was preceded in death by seven siblings, Evelyn Thompson, Golden Taylor, John Taylor, Lucille Carpenter, Betty Trammell, James Taylor Jr., Isabel Taylor as well as five half-brothers and sisters. Ruby’s most recent years included much earned relaxation and fellowship with new friends writing poetry, winning at bingo, playing the piano and attending concerts at The Heritage at Lowman Home in White Rock, SC. The funeral will be held Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 3pm at Bull Swamp Baptist Church in North, SC.Visitation will be held at 2pm at the church.
