Ronald G. Street, 64.We rejoice in the life of this man of God.Thanks to God for the home-going as we celebrate his life and ministry. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at Ebenezer Pentecostal Holiness Church with Bishop Greg Amos, Rev. Gene Henderson, Rev. H. Larry Jones and Rev. Charles Grooms officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.The casket will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Pallbearers will be nephews. Mr. Street was born in Richlands, Virginia and grew up in Portsmouth, VAa son of the late Jennings and Hazel King Street.He attended Holmes Bible College in Greenville, SC from 1969 until 1971 earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Sacred Literature.He began full time pasturing in 1975 in the South Carolina Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.He received the Mission Workers License from the Eastern Virginia Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church and received the Ministers License and Ordination from the South Carolina Conference. Rev. Street attended the Commission for the Blind and Federation for the Blind receiving his accreditation in personal computer training with the Jaws program in Columbia, SC. He was a Captain in the S. C. State Guard serving as a Chaplain and was later promoted to Major.Ultimately his highest calling of all was serving God as a Pastor in full-time ministry to seven churches over a period of 23 years. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Sophia Jeffcoat Street of the home; one daughter, Julie (Anthony) Price of Lexington; two grandchildren, Traey Hunt and Tyler Hunt both of Lexington, and one nephew, Wyatt Street.He was predeceased by a brother, Rodger Street.Close to his heart was the love of his family and friends, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.He was affectionately known as “PaPa” to Tyler and Traey.He loved to visit and spend vacation in the Mountains of Virginia and travel with fellow ministers to conferences, conventions and seminars. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the church before the service.Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in Northis in charge of arrangements. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all for each act of encouragement over the past years in a phone call or a ride down the road.These brought him so much joy.His witness for the lord, joking and laughter will be greatly missed.
