Robert Kinney

Robert J. Kinney, 83, of Neeses, passes away Tuesday, July 2, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013, at North Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Robbie Parnell and Rev. Ashton Feagin officiating.Burial will be in Kinney Memorial Gardens. The casket will be placed in the church at 3 p.m. Pallbearers will be Chris Theodore, Scottie Jones, Corey Mize, Rob Chavis, Justin Scott, Craig Hiott, Spencer Skinner, William Knight, Dale Theodore, and Thomas Hiott III. Mr. Kinney was born in Randolph County, NC, a son of the late Troy and Lula Beason Kinney.He was a retired truck driver and a member of North Pentecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include his wife, Maggie R. Kinney; daughters, Betty Knight, Janice Hiott, Alice Chavis; granddaughter/daughter, Teresa Allman, all of Neeses; a son-in-law, Larry Chavis; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by a son, James “Skippy” Grimes and his wife Patricia Grimes; a daughter, Barbara Chavis; a son-in-law, Tommy Hiott Sr.; two sisters, Myrtle Burrow and Ruth Coble; two brothers, Alfred Kinney and Cecil Kinney. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Friday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfh.com) and other times at the home of Janice Hiott, 668 Fire Tower Road, where his wife Maggie Kinney resides.
