Robert L.H. Hartley, 72, of Swansea, died Sunday, March 16, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Hardenbrook and Rev. Dean Reynolds officiating.The casket will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m. Mr. Hartley was born in Sally, SC a son of the late Harvey and Janet Whittle Hartley.He was the husband of his loving wife Frances Kemmerlin Hartley for 51 years.He retired as a Supervisor with Kline Iron and Steel Company in Columbia where he worked for 39 years and was a member of the Woodmen of the World. Survivors include his wife of the home, two daughters, Dianne (Jim) Binks and Angela (Eddie) Ott; son-in-law, Clarence Breslin; grandchildren, Kimberly Drafts, Ryan (Heather) Hartley, Ed Ott and Julia Ott and seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, James, Johnny, Clark and Ricky Hartley; two sisters, Linda Nelms and Rose Smith.He was predeceased by a daughter, Robin Hartley; grandson, Kary Drafts and sisters, Gracie Day, Joanne Inabinet and Claudia Williams. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church before the funeral and other times at his home, 407 Sardis Church Road, Swansea.Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) is in charge of arrangements.
