Nina Greene Richardson

Nina Greene Richardson, 74, of North, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 28, 2020 at First Baptist Church of North with the Rev. Sean McElrath officiating.The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in North. Mrs. Richardson was born in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late James Wightman Greene and the late Nina Carolyn Robinson Greene. Survivors include her husband, Johnny Franklin Richardson, Sr.; sons, John Franklin, Jr. and Wilfred North Richardson; from Horry County, Diane Wise (sister-in-law), Paul Wise (brother-in-law), Paula Wise Woodle (niece) and husband, Carey; Kristy Wise Strickland (niece) and husband (Andy); Windell Lee Richardson (brother-in-law).She was predeceased by a daughter, Nina Carolyn Pierce. Mrs. Richardson graduated from the College of Arts and Science on June 4, 1966.She immediately began pursuit of her Master's, which she obtained the next year.She was a teacher for 37 years and spent most of her teaching career at Lexington School District 7.She was very proud of that, as her mom and aunt Grace were also teachers. She loved her family and enjoyed having them in her company but most of all she loved God.She was steadfast in her faith to Him as a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of North.In her spare time before she became ill, she enjoyed such activities as reading and writing, playing the piano/organ, knitting and sewing, watching old western and classical movies as well as sports.
