Millie Jean Brown

Millie Jean Brown, 89, of North, S. C. passed away peacefully at home with her children and family around her on Thursday, February16, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 19, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2740 Broughton Street, Orangeburg, S. C. with Bishop Randy Redmond officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Orangeburg, S. C.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Pam and Allen Williams in North, S. C.

Mrs. Brown was born in Winnsboro, S. C., a daughter of the late Langford Carol Sharpe and the late Katie Bell Branham Sharpe.  Mrs. Brown was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served her church faithfully for many years. She enjoyed playing basketball, cooking, was valedictorian of her high school class and loved the Carolina Gamecocks. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, mother-in-law, sister and friend.

Survivors include her children Pam (Allen) Williams, Marion (Janice) Brown, Jewel (Chris) Holstad and Julie Jones (David); 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; a sister, Joy McCall and a number of nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Brown was predeceased by a son, Eddie Carol Brown, a sister, Sybil Watts and brothers, Marion Sharpe and Stan Sharpe.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Gloria James, Gracie Johnson and Jolley Acres Nursing home staff for their love and care.
