Mary Powell Furtick

Mary Powell Furtick, 73, of Swansea, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 6, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday May 10, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church in Swansea with Rev. Butch Powell officiating.The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the church before the service and other times at the home of Mr. Gerald Furtick, 309 Burton Gunter Rd., North.Burial will be in Redmond Family Cemetery near Swansea. Born on November 25th, 1942, She was predeceased by her mother and father, Dudley and Lena Powell; brother, Randy Powell and sister, Laura Smith. She was an active member at Faith Baptist Church for many years.She loved church and her church family.She enjoyed singing in the choir or solo.She enjoyed working in her greenhouse and gardening.She loved the Lord and being in church.Her presence will be missed.We love you and will see you again. Survivors include her loving husband of 22 years, Gerald Furtick; sons, James (Brenda) Matthews and Tony Matthews; step-children, Gene Furtick and Sissy Brown; grandchildren, Corbin (Holly), Nelson, Danielle, Patrick and Brandi; one great-grandson, Wyatt; brothers, Laverne “Bubba” (Pearl) Powell, Jimmy (Faye) Powell; sisters, Lena (Ernest) Frasier and Ethelyne (Robert) Perry.
