Mary Frances Slice Dyches, 88, of Neeses passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Livingston Methodist Church and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:00 PM in the church.
Mrs. Dyches was born in Columbia, SC to the late Huber Aster and Lessie Marcile Slice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie E. Dyches, son, Micheal C. Dyches, and brother, Donald A. Slice. She had previously worked at Horsman Doll in West Columbia and Aero Surveys in Marietta, GA. She loved traveling, especially to the mountains, and she enjoyed telling stories about the country singers that she met – Porter Wagner, Little Jimmy Dickens, and Barbara Mandrell to name just a few. She also enjoyed collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and doing word search puzzles. She created many beautiful crocheted items and won a First Premium Purple Ribbon for her “Red Roses” afghan at the Orangeburg County Fair. Perhaps, however, her greatest accomplishment was that of a devoted housewife and mother.
Survivors include her children, Donna M. Lee (Richard) Stroud of Douglasville, GA, Gregory (Amie) Dyches of Neeses, SC, Randy (Traci) Dyches of Rockmart, GA, sister Bobbie Bell of Irmo, SC and best friend forever Margaret Shirey of Greenwood, SC. Mrs. Dyches also had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation (komen.org), 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380 or Mike's Bible Ministry at the Word of God Church, 1538 La Grande Smoak Street, Cordova, South Carolina 29039.
