Mary Belle Dukes Proctor

Mary Belle Dukes Proctor, 93, of the Canaan Community, died Sunday, July 13, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, at Canaan Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Woodward and Rev. Odell Breeland officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glenn Ash, Franklin McAlhany, Ernie Floyd, Truett Mack, Carl Adicks, Jewell Proctor, Bruce Proctor and David Proctor.Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Senior Adult Sunday School class. Mrs. Proctor was born in Branchville, a daughter of the late Homer and Nettie McAlhany Dukes.She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School class.She was married to the late T. M. “Dink” Proctor. Survivors include three children, H. L. (Peggy) Proctor, Libby (Tom) McAlhany, and Dukes (Paula) Proctor; 2 sisters, Hannah Floyd and Viola Smith; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.She was predeceased by one brother, Homer L. Dukes, Jr. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. before the service at Canaan Baptist Church.Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home or North (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) is in charge of arrangements.
