Mary Ann Williamson Padgett

Mary Ann Williamson Padgett, 67, of Bamberg, S. C. passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 11761 Heritage Hwy., Bamberg, S. C. 29003 with Rev. Kevin Dalton officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service at the church. A private burial will follow in Bamberg County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Padgett was born in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Mildred Williams Williamson and the late Harold Williamson, Sr.  Mrs. Padgett was a member of Trinity UMC, supporter of M.A.M.A.S., loved flowers and gardening and was an active member of the book club.  She was a dedicated schoolteacher for 27 years and impacted so many children and always put others ahead of herself.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Jack Pershing Padgett, Jr.; daughter, Kathleen Rebekah Padgett; son, James Warren Padgett; her mother, Mildred Williams Williamson, sisters, Eva Marie Williamson, Lisa Lynn Williamson, Irene (Danny) Weathers and Carol Ann (Louis) Oswald; brother, Harold Williamson, Jr.; brother-in-law, Dr. Dale (Linda) Padgett and a number of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Padgett was predeceased by her father, Harold Williamson, Sr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mary Ann Morris Animal Society (M.A.M.A.S.), (www.maryannmorrisanimalsociety.org), 254 Slow Pitch Road, Bamberg, S. C. 29003.

The family would like to thank the medical staff, Agape Hospice and Center Well  caregivers for the excellent care given.

The pallbearers will be Dale Padgett, Jr., Martin Padgett, Zack Smith, Slayton Stokes, Tony Parker and Anand Achanti.  Honorable pallbearers will be Rick Pinson, Erle Batts, Dr. Leland McElveen and Allen Bunch.
