Marvin Gleaton, 74, of Neeses, died Tuesday, July 7, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Dale Deese and the Rev. David Pell officiating.Burial will be in the Mount Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Mr. Gleaton was born in Aiken County on August 4, 1940.He was the son of the late Colie B. and Jane Elizabeth Chavis Gleaton.He was a member of Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church in Salley.He was the secretary of his Sunday School class.He was also a talented musician and played guitar at his church.He retired from E&I Dupont after 20 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Williams Gleaton of the home; two daughters, Sharon Gleaton (Kenny) Davis of Neeses and Vickie Gleaton of Neeses, grandchildren Bryan (Casey) Maxwell, Holly (Jeff) Sightler, Samantha (Derek) Lancaster, and Accie Marvin Herlong, great grandchildren Cayden, Jay, Addison, Sadie and Mason and siblings, Melba Knox, Mortimo (Mary) Gleaton, Willis (Lois) Gleaton, Jeanette (Harry) Eades, Shirley (Raymond) Hutto, Ann (George) Morris, and Floyd Gleaton; and sister-in-law, Joann Hutto Gleaton.He was predeceased by sisters Callie Mae Williamson and Vera Sturkie and brother Tony Gleaton. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North, SC (www.mcalhanyfunera home.com) and other times at the home, 273 Fire Tower Road, Neeses.
