Margaret Rachel Jones Livingston

Margaret Rachel Jones Livingston, 95, of Pine Hill Community, Orangeburg County, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023 following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Bull Swamp Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell Boyleston and Rev. Chris Furtick officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Livingston’s grandsons, Jay Livingston and Chris Mott; and four of her great grandsons, Tyler Maddox, Trace Furtick, Tanner Aimar and Copeland Furtick. Mrs. Livingston was born on October 31, 1928 in Orangeburg County, SC, a daughter of the late Heyward Lawton Jones, Sr. and the late Annie Knotts Jones. She finished Orangeburg High School in 1945 and Orangeburg Business School in 1946. She retired after 23 years from J.F. Cleckley & Co., Orangeburg, SC. She was a member of Bull Swamp Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, M.K.; her siblings, Heyward L. Jones, Jr. and Adria Ann Jones Knight; and her parents. Survivors include her children, Melton (Bonnie) Livingston and Karen L. (Buddy) George; four grandchildren, Stacy M. (Johnny) Todd, Jay (Brandi) Livingston, Chris (Stacey) Mott, Alissa L. (Chris) Furtick; and nine great-grandchildren, Tyler Maddox, Trace Furtick, Tanner Aimar, Copeland Furtick, Sara Todd, Allie Brynn Furtick, Rachel Mott, Logan Livingston and Addi Grace Livingston. All of whom will cherish wonderful memories of their Mama, Grandmama, G-mama and Mrs. Margaret. The family would like to give a special thanks to Annette Spires and Tamy Heard for their great care while Mrs. Margaret was still at home and to the wonderful staff at Embrace Hospice House for the phenomenal care and compassion shown to our Mother in her final days.
