Mable Ayers Strickland

Mable Ayers Strickland, 90, of North, died September 30, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at North United Methodist Church.Burial will be in Penn Branch Cemetery in North. Mrs. Strickland was born in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Henry G. and Ida Amaker Ayers.She was reared at Epworth Children’s Home and received her formal education at Lander College.She was a member of North United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Linda S. (Ron) Bansky and Judy (Gene) Argoe; four grandchildren, James P. (Lisa) Varn, Jr., Chrystie L. Varn, Paul (Tammy) Argoe, Jr. and Shelley R. Butela; and three great-grandchildren, Trey Varn, Kinsley Varn and Kristen Broman. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 PM Thursday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home, before the service (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com).
