Lucy Mae Gantt

Lucy Mae Gantt, 101, of Gaston, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Gaston with Rev. Brady Henderson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North.

Mrs. Gantt was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Bennie R. and Mary Mae Howell Sturkie.  She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Gaston where she taught Sunday school for many years.  She was a faithful prayer warrior who loved the Lord, her family and church family.  She was a blessing and inspiration to all who knew her.

Survivors include her sister, Bertha Mae Hutto; and a number of nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Carroll Gantt; a step-son, Ansel Gantt; and brothers, Marion Sturkie and Hugo Sturkie.
