Loretta D. (Nettie) Smith-Saylor

Loretta D. (Nettie) Smith-Saylor, 80, of Swansea, died Tuesday. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 7, at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Jackson and Rev. Dale Mechling officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Randy Furtick, James Bailey, Mike Bailey, Don Phelps, Jacob Jackson, Chad Tackett and Carroll Wise. Mrs. Smith-Saylor was born in Lexington County a daughter of the late Lonnie B. and Bessie Watts Dowd, Sr.She was a member of Corner Stone Christian Center of Sandy Run and was first married to the late Keith W. Smith. Survivors include her husband, Larkin C. Saylor of the home; one daughter, Wanda Smith Sweat of Gaston; two sisters, Lessie Murl Bailey of Wagener and Ruth Furtick of Gaston; two brothers, Mitchell Dowd and Carlie Dowd both of Gaston.She was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday before the service at Sardis Baptist Church and other times at the home, 1316 St. Matthews Road, Swansea.
