Linda Faye Martin Wise

Linda Faye Martin Wise passed away on February 20, 2017 at Lexington Agape Hospice.The daughter of Athalia Hutto Martin (Laman) and James Lewis Martin, Linda was born in 1938 in Florida with an amazing, natural musical talent which she generously shared in churches, weddings, other events and family gatherings – especially Christmas. Linda graduated from Swansea High School, where she excelled at Varsity basketball and music, and later attended nursing school.On May25, 1958 she married Newman Otis Wise.After her husband’s death in 1997, Linda remained a widow living on her own at the family home, enjoying special interests in collecting antiques, fishing, music, church and visiting friends at the senior center. Linda and Newman were parents to four children:Martin Otis Wise (Susan), TraciWise Burns (Weyland), Curtis Newman Wise, and Linda Christine Wise Bonham (Nick); six grandchildren, Chad, Stacey, Trey, David, Cody, Katie, a growing group of great-grandchildren along with South Carolina and Florida family members.A very special grandchild, Anna, left them too early but lives forever in the memories of her family and friends.Linda is also survived by two sisters,DyAnne Kaye Martin and Alice Gaye Laman Koontz. A service to celebrate the life of Linda Faye Martin Wise will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church, Swansea, SC on Wednesday, February 22, 2017at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will follow at the church.A private burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to New Spring Church - The Gauntlet, 657 Bush River Road, Columbia, SC 29210. Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home is assisting the family.
