Lillian Williamson Chavis

Lillian W. Chavis, 90, of North, died Monday, October 14, 2013. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17 at Fellowship Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Davis and Rev. Terry Wilder officiating. Mrs. Chavis was born in Orangeburg County, daughter of the late Asbury and Sallie Elders Williamson.She was retired from Stone Manufacturing Company and was a former caregiver.She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and a former Sunday School teacher.She was married to the late Olin Chavis. Survivors include four daughters, Ruth C. Kirkland of Batesburg, Ruby C. Sturkie of Swansea, Rose C. Gunter of Leesville and Rebecca C. Riley of Swansea; one brother, Jimmy Williamson of North; ten grandchildren, twenty seven great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren.She was predeceased by a son, Ernest Chavis, a brother, Johnny Williamson and sister, Eloise Noll. The family will receive friends after the service at Fellowship Baptist Church.Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) is in charge of arrangements.
