Leon Ray Bowman

Leon Ray Bowman, 80, of Dandridge, TN, died Sunday, June 15, 2014. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, June 19, at Norway Cemetery. Mr. Bowman was born in Flint Creek, MO the son of the late Ernest M. and Ruth Stanley Bowman.He was retired from the U. S. Navy and was the retired Police Chief of Norway after 15 years of service.He was married to the late Mary Louise Bowman. Survivors include four children, Kimberly (Ronnie Joe) Williams, Vincent Ray (Cindy) Bowman, Thomas Ray (Dianne) Bowman and Christopher Ray Bowman; seven grandchildren, Kristina Collins, Tonya Chung, Tracey McKeithan, Teresa Elisor, Jennifer Calfee, Colleen Bowman and Victoria Hoover; one nephew, Tony Bowman; nine great-grandchildren and two brothers. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com). In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
