Legree Madison Rucker, 73, of Swansea, died Tuesday, December 17. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 21, at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Hardenbrook and Rev. H. Larry Jones officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.The casket will be placed in the church at 10:00 a.m. Mr. Rucker was born in Calhoun County, son of the late Dantzler and Jessie Brady Rucker.He was a retired fabricator and iron worker and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Jacquelyn Craft Jackson Rucker of the home; one step-daughter, Lora Beth Rucker of Swansea; one step-son, Ryan “Kit” Jackson (Bett) of Rocky Mount, NC; grandchildren, Ryan (Stacy) Jackson, Michael (Maureen) Jackson, Jennifer (Bryan) Corley, Jim (Tina) Rucker, Reid (Kristen) Rucker; great-grandchildren, Michael Jackson, Kenneth Jackson, Emily Corley, Ryan Rucker, Jackson Rucker, Erin Corley, Jack Rucker, Kentzler Rucker, Rowan Rucker, Ian and Haley Jones and Mason Daughtridge; one brother, Joe Rucker; two sisters, Terry (Melvin) Gleaton and Sylvia Long; a number of nieces and nephews and special friends.He was predeceased by a brother Edward Rucker. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) and other times at the home 106 Timmerman Road in Swansea.
