Katharine M. Pindak

Katharine Pindak, 99, 218 Ashwood Street, did Tuesday afternoon, November 18, 2014 at the Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Pindak was born in Poland to the late Antoni and Zofia Pinkowicz on October 11, 1915.She was married to the late Antoni Pindak. She was preceded in death by her husband and son Jimmy Pindak, great-granddaughter, Kourtney Wall and grandson, Arnold Gartman.Survivors are her daughter-in-law, Ruth Pindak with whom she resided.She had four daughters, Helen Gartman (Jimmy) of West Columbia, Judy Chavis (Cecile) of Orangeburg, Mary Hamilton (James) of Gaston, Christian Caswell (Samuel) of Georgia; three sons, Yon Pindak (Frances) of Gaston, Johnny Pindak (Lizzy) of Orangeburg and Joe Pindak of Bamburg; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; a special person to her, Dale Swearingen (brother of Ruth) and a host of friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North and other times at the home of her daughter, Judy Chavis, 212 Hummingbird Lane, Cordova, SC. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 21, 2014 at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Columbia Road, Orangeburg.Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) is in charge of arrangements.
