Julian Wayne Griffith

Julian Wayne Griffith, Sr., 78, of Neeses, went to his heavenly home on Friday, July 5, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M., Monday, July 8, 2018 at St. George Baptist Church in Orangeburg, SC with Rev. Dean Hightower, Rev. David Anderson and Rev. Steve Dees officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 4:00-5:00 before the service on Monday at the church and other times at the Griffith residence, 105 Park Street, Neeses. Mr. Griffith was born on March 6, 1941 in Orangeburg, SC, a son of the late Bryan and Maude Banks Griffith.He graduated from Norway High School and attended Spartanburg Junior College after which he worked for his father-in-law, James Brown, Sr. for two years at his construction company.He then worked for McCrory Construction Co. for 45 years and retired as a superintendent.He supervised the construction of many beautiful buildings and was honored to receive many awards including the Craftsmanship Award of Excellence as Superintendent of Construction of the Ainsley Hall House Restoration in 1967. Survivors include his wife, Jane Annette (Ann) Brown Griffith of Neeses; four children, Julian Wayne Griffith, Jr., Melisa Griffith (Bruce) Judy, Janice Griffith Bair and Kenneth Griffith, all of Neeses; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Richard (Doris) Griffith of Harleyville and Harry (Nellie) Griffith of Neeses; and a sister, Margarete (Frank) Geiger of Moncks Corner.
