Joye F. Hoffman

Joye F. Hoffman, 74, of Swansea, SC, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021. She was born to the late John Hydrick and Eva Fogle of Swansea, SC. Mrs. Hoffman graduated from Swansea High School and went on to study Mathematics at USC Columbia.She graduated with a Bachelors and a Master’s degree. Joye worked as a Secondary Math Teacher at Swansea High school for 40 years until she retired. She was dedicated to her family, extended family, friends, and community. She enjoyed going to the beach and working with the mission Flowers for Bibles. She has helped Flowers for Bibles mission raise money for bibles, medical missions and more in the states and around the world. Joye was married to the late W. W. Hoffman Jr. of North, SC and has 2 children, 5 grandsons, 4 great-granddaughters, nieces and nephews. Joye is predeceased by her Father and Mother; Husband; Brother, John H. Fogle, Jr; and daughter-in-law, Melissa M. Hoffman. She is survived by her children, Melodie (Thomas) Sharpe and Chris Hoffman; grandchildren, Garrett (Sabrina) Sharpe, Ryan (Jessica) Sharpe, Chris Hoffman, Jr., Tyler (Holly) Hoffman and Seth (Jessie) Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Melissa Hoffman, Maryann Sharpe, Amelia Hoffman and Georgia Sharpe. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 29 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Swansea First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Swansea First Baptist Church, Swansea SC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Swansea First Baptist Church.
