Joseph Nelson Wingard, Sr., 85, of Neeses, died Thursday, October 17. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday October 20, 2013 at Livingston United Methodist Church with Rev. Brandon Fulmer officiating.Burial will be in Pen Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandsons of Mr. Wingard. Mr. Wingard was born in Orangeburg County, son of the late Thomas and Eloise Crim Wingard.He was a retired construction superintendent from Congaree Construction Company.He was an avid hunter and a Jack Russell breeder.He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Signal Corp.He attended Livingston United Methodist Church.He was married to the late Julia Mae Callahan Wingard and the late Ophelia Corbett Wingard. Survivors include two daughters, Lillian (Ira) Jeffcoat of Neeses and Eula Cheryl Wingard of Woodford, one son Joseph Nelson (Renee) Wingard, Jr. of Orangeburg; grandchildren, Cheryl Jo (Wendell) Addison, Nikki (Les) Porter, Susan (Jimmy) Miller, Will (Jessica) Jeffcoat, Becky (Matt) Chavis, Joseph Nelson (Suzanne) Wingard, III, Josh H. Wingard, Lori C. Wingard, Jennifer (Josh) Briggs, Justin Bair Wingard, and Anna Julia Wingard; great-grandchildren, Allison Julia, Jonathan, Andrew, Corey, Emily, Trace, Colton, Jackson, Anna Grace, Josie, Hayden and Zoe. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) and other times at the home 203 Park Street in Neeses.
