Joseph Houston Mincey, 27, of Swansea, Friday, December 25, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 28, 2015 at Sardis Baptist Churchwith Rev. Dean Reynolds officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.The casket will be placed in the church at 1:00 P.M. Mr. Mincey was born in Columbia, a son of Floyd Mincey, Jr. and Robin Scott Mincey.He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church and was loved by everyone that knew him.He survived four open heart surgeries and wasn’t supposed to live past five years of age.Joey was the light of our life and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his stepdad, John Montjoy of Swansea; sisters, Jennifer Mincey of Swansea and Judi Haley (Josh), of Manning; nieces, Brianna, Taylor, and SavannahHaley, all of Manning; maternal grandparents, Acie (Judith) Scott of Columbia; half-brother, Jimmy Mincey of Charleston, SC; and a number of Aunts and Uncles.He was predeceased by a niece, Kaitlyn Mincey and paternal grandparents, Floyd and Pat Mincey. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Sunday at Culler- McAlhany Funeral Home (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) in North.
