Johnny "Dumpy" Williams

Johnny “Dumpy” Williams, 79, entered peacefully into heaven July 20, 2023.  He was born January 4, 1944 in Orangeburg County.  He was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Poole and the late Vonnie Mae Poole.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 PM, Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Wayside Baptist Tabernacle, 205 Pine St., Pelion, S. C. with Rev. Johnny Slice officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 3:30 PM, 30 minutes prior to the funeral, at the church.  Dumpy loved to color, play bingo and he never met a stranger.

Survivors include his brother, Pastor Grover Wayne (Diane) Williams; nieces, Kristie (Robert) Reynolds, Deidra (Josh) Long and many great nephews and nieces that he loved as his own.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was predeceased by a sister, Norma Bolin.

The family would like to extend a huge thanks to the staff and residents of LMC-EC for they have been a part of his extended family for over 9 years.
