John Steven "Steve" Wannamaker

John Steven “Steve” Wannamaker, 68, of North, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Mr. Wannamaker was born in Orangeburg County, a son of the late John Lambert, Sr. and Estelle Cook Wannamaker.Steve served in the United States Marines and the Army Reserves.Steve retired from MCI Trucking and also was a radio announcer for Miller Communications for Orangeburg Prep Football.Steve enjoyed performing as an Elvis impersonator and a comedian.He performed at the Comedy House in Columbia and throughout the state.He was also an avid golfer. He is survived by the love of his life, Ruby Brown; brother, Tommy Wannamaker; his son, Gabrielle; step-daughters, Sylvia McFadden and Roberta Brown Johnson; step-sons, Colin Scott, Willis Scott and Robert Brown; nieces, Rhonda (Gerald) Wannamaker Gunter, Cayla Wannamaker, Lisa (Richard) Wannamaker Edwards; nephews, Robby Wannamaker, Rhett Wannamaker, Ryan Wannamaker, Gary Wannamaker, Andy Wannamaker and a sister-in-law, Alma Wannamaker. Steve was predeceased by a brother, John L. Wannamaker, Jr. Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) in North is in charge of arrangements.
