John Henry Wannamaker

John Henry Wannamaker, 89, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020 of Covid-related complications. He grew up in Swansea and graduated from Swansea High School.He was the son of John Talmadge Wannamaker and Margaret Louise Muller Wannamaker. He was a Korean War Veteran and retired from the South Carolina Department of Transportation after over three decades of employment. John was married to Katie C. Wannamaker and was the stepfather to Deborah F. Hutto (Sam), Sharon F. Hutto (Alfred) and Carole F. Crosby (Berley).He was predeceased by a sister (Mary Rucker) and a brother (Olin Wannamaker) and had three nephews, a niece, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. John was a member of Edmund First Baptist Church. Burial will be private at Sardis Baptist Church in Swansea and a memorial service will be held at a later date.Arrangements are being handled by Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North, SC.
