Joe Gleaton

Oral Alvin “Joe” Gleaton, 70, of North, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at North Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Roger Smoak officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral in the church sanctuary on Wednesday. Burial will follow at North Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. Mr. Gleaton was born in Orangeburg County, a son of the late Otis J. and Letitia Brown Gleaton, Sr. He loved his family and was a member of North Pentecostal Holiness Church. He worked for DPU where he was a certified water plant operator and was an avid sports fan. Survivors include his loving wife, Susan Williams Gleaton; a stepson, James Allen Dantzler; a grandson, Joshua Wade Dantzler; brothers, John Gleaton and Melvin (Terry) Gleaton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepsons, Charles Edward Dantzler and Robert Neal Brown; brothers, Otis J. Gleaton, Jr. and Charles Malcolm Gleaton; and sisters, Jean Stroman, Donna Fulmer and Mildred Edwards. Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home, North, S. C. is assisting the family.
