Jo Anne Jackson, 89, of Swansea, died Saturday, January 18, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 2001 Whetstone Road, Swansea, with Rev. Don Clendaniel and Rev. David Anderson officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Jackson was born in York, SC, a daughter of the late Frank J. Smith and Blondelle Harmon and stepfather, Dr. Rice B. Harmon, Sr. She was a graduate of Lexington High School and attended Winthrop College.She was an avid Dancer and won the loving cup trophy at a dance recital in 1935 at Drayton Hall in Columbia.She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and was married to the late Roscoe Conklin Jackson, Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly J. and Leonard F. Ross, Jr of Columbia, and Karen J. O’Shea of Columbia; one son, Roscoe Conklin Jackson III of Columbia; one brother, Rice B. Harmon Jr. of Lexington; and one granddaughter, Sara Denise Jackson. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the church before the service.Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North is in charge of arrangements.
