Jimmy Ray Smith

Jimmy Ray Smith, 69, of North, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at The Oaks. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 13, 2013 at North United Methodist Church with Rev. Donald O. Clendaniel, II and the Rev. James R. McGee officiating. Mr Smith was born in Lexington County, a son of the late C. B. and Marjorie Arant Smith,.He was a member of the North United Methodist Church, and was retired from Site Prep of N. C., Inc. for 25 years.He served in the National Guard and was a member of Masonic Lodge 1l9 of North.He was a graduate of North High School. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Carson Smith of the home, three daughters, Monica and Clay Farr of North and Jennifer and Marsh Stark, of Orangeburg Cherri Abeyta of Columbia; one brother, Tony Smith of North and 10 grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 12, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) and other times at the family home 8107 Salley Road in North. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Vann Beth Shuler and her staff and the staff of the Rehab Center at The Oaks.
