Jimmy New, 53, of Cordova, died Saturday, August 31, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Vaughn officiating.Burial will be in Sunny Vista Church of God Cemetery near North. Pallbearers will be members of the Bootleg Militia. Mr. New was born in North, a son of the late Raymond and Sadie Mae Phillips New.He was a member of Columbia Road Church of God and worked at Lovelace Commercial Contracting. Survivors include his wife, Lisa Dempsy New of Cordova; a step-son, Sam Kemmerlin of Bend, Oregon; brothers and sisters, Brenda (Steve) Carson of Livingston, Johnny New of Neeses, Allen (Mary) New of North, Patsy (Bubba) Porter of Salley, David (Peggy) New of Neeses and his special companion, MupMup. The family is at the house of Roxie Phillips, 4124 Stillwood Circle, Orangeburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home.
