Jimmy Edgar Hill

Jimmy Edgar Hill, 83, of Sandy Run, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Trinity Baptist Tabernacle, 1101 Old Sandy Run Road, Gaston, S. C. with Pastor Leo Senn and Norman Keefe officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM prior to the service.Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Hill was born in Sandy Run S. C., a son of the late J. Roy Hill and the late Thelma (Hoffman) Hill.He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.He also loved to cook chicken tenders, was a hard worker and loved to hunt.Mr. Hill loved his church where he was a faithful member for over 55 years, served as head Deacon, was an Adult Sunday School teacher and Church Treasurer.He was a farmer and worked at Conder and Smith Stockyards and 57 years as a residential contractor. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Janet Keefe Hill, three sons, Roy A. (Teresa) Hill, Mark Hill, Jeffrey (Kristen) Hill; a daughter, Michelle (Michael) Davis; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one brother, Marion (Yolanda) Hill and a number of nieces and nephews.Mr. Hill was predeceased by a brother, Leonard Hill and a daughter-in-law, Jacqui Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Tabernacle Mission Fund, P.O. Box 667, Gaston, S. C.29053.
