Jettie Smith Craft, 99, of Swansea, SC, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, March 21, 2016 at Swansea First Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Wilder officiating.Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.The casket will be placed in the church at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Craft was born in Columbia and had childhood memories of playing on the streets when they were still dirt.She was a daughter of the late Archie and Lula Goodwin Smith.She was a member of Swansea First Baptist Church and was the widow of the late Fred Harrison Craft. Mrs. Craft graduated from Swansea High School and was the valedictorian of the class of 1933.She was employed by Swansea Manufacturing for many years and loved needlework.She had a deep appreciation for nature and was an avid gardener.She valued knowledge and loved reading.She continued to be bright and vibrant in her final days.She was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and many friends. Survivors include sons, Eddie Craft (Virginia) and Larry “Cap” Craft (Lois); daughters, Linda Craft, Freda Keefer, and Carla Nocilo (Spaso); 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.She was predeceased by brothers, Howard Smith and Alvin Smith; two grandsons and one great-granddaughter. The family will receive friend’s Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome) from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and other times at her home, 235 North Bartow Ave., Swansea.
