James Williamson

Mr. James Williamson, 85, of Gaston, SC, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Lexington Medical Center surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Beaver Creek Baptist Church in Neeses, SC with Rev. Don Studebaker and Rev. Jimmy Brown officiating.The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.Burial will be at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Trinity Road, North, SC. Mr. Williamson was born May 14, 1933 in Swansea, SC, the son of the late Aiken Clarence and Pearline Chavis Williamson.He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Linda (Harvel) Sightler, Larry (Lisha) Williamson and Richard (Betty) Williamson; brothers, Henry (Sylvia) Williamson and L. B. (Peggy) Williamson; Special friends, Patricia Spires and Carol Bowen; 8 grand-children and 9 great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by five sisters; Elizabeth (Libby) Flemming, Doris Hoffman, Mary Hoffman, Martha Dykes and Sara Sharpe; three brothers, Louis Cole, John David (J. D.) and Bubba Lee Williamson. Special thanks to his son Ricky for making sure Dad could go to “work” every minute he was able and to his daughter-in-law, Betty for keeping him busy on weekends and the wonderful care she gave Johnny. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the church before the service and other times at the home of Richard and Betty Williamson, 123 Wayne Street, Gaston, SC 29053.Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) of North, SC is assisting the family with arrangements.
