James Sturkie

James Sturkie, Jr., 89, of 308 Bud Rish Road, Swansea passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Calvary United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Rucker officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 PM prior to the service.Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Sturkie was born in Swansea, S. C., a son of the late James Sturkie, Sr. and the late Maydell (Sharpe) Sturkie.He was a US Army veteran, prior Mason and member of the Woodman of the World. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Leitha Chavis Sturkie; a son, David Sturkie of Swansea; a grandson, Jamie Sturkie, granddaughter, Lisa Sturkie Morrow; two great grandchildren, J. D.
