James Fredrick Roland

James Fredrick Roland, 76, of Pelion, S. C., passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 16, 2024, at Wayside Baptist Tabernacle, 205 Pine St., Pelion, S. C. 29123 with Pastor Grover Williams officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service in the church.  Burial will follow the church cemetery.

Mr. Roland was born in Lexington, S. C., a son of the late Enos Frank Roland and the late Jane Heverine (Bouye) Roland.  He had a heart of Gold!  When he started living for God he adopted all of the children at church.  He was a wonderful husband and father.

Survivors include his wife of 5 years, Joanie Johnson Roland; one daughter, Cyndi Roland; one stepson, Johnny Jefferson; one sister, Becky Roland (Bryan) Oswald; one brother, George F. Roland; two nieces and two nephews and his extended family and friends at Wayside Baptist Tabernacle and fellow drivers at USF Holland.  Mr. Roland was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
