James Olin Brown, 54, of Swansea, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 P.M., Monday, May 7, 2018 at Swansea First Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Wilder officiating.Burial will be in the Redmond Family Cemetery near Swansea.The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service. Mr. Brown was born in Carrollton, GA, a son of Carey James “C.J.” and Betty Sue Johnson Brown.He was a master carpenter and graduated from Swansea High School in 1981. Survivors include his parents of Swansea; sisters, Debbie Spires and Donna (Jeffrey) Smith; nephews, Dustin (Brittany) Spires, Jasper Spires, Austyn Jeffcoat, Zachery Smith and Joshua Smith; nieces, Jenna Jeffcoat and Allison Smith; great-niece, McKenzie Brown; and a great-nephew, Bryson Spires.He was predeceased by a brother, Nedwin Brown.The family would like to extend a special thanks to his life-long friends, Arthur Myers and David Rucker. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) in North and other times at the home of C.J. and Betty Brown.
