Hazel Ann Chavis Bishop, 65, of the Bolentown community in Orangeburg County entered the kingdom of heaven peacefully from her home Monday morning, July 9th after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Aiken County.She was of the Baptist faith and was a wonderful homemaker. She loved to garden and go antiquing. She was preceded in death by her Husband of 39 years, Jones William “Bill” Bishop; her father, James Chavis; and her brother, James Rodney Chavis. She is survived by her five children, William Heath (Myra) Bishop of Elko, Natalie Hope (Wesley) Goodwin of North, Victoria Nicole Bishop of Spartanburg, Laura (Corey) Adicks of the home, and Rodney Hayden Bishop of the home; two beloved grandchildren, Chayton Lee and Tallulah Cate Adicks; sisters, Peggy Gray and Mattie Seigler; a brother, Jimmy Chavis; and her mother, Mary Hallowell. Friends and family may call at the residence. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 3:30pm at the family church ruins of the Holiness Public Worship of God, Ellison Estates Rd., Salley, SC. Visitation will immediately follow at the home of her eldest son, 7456 Bay Street, Williston, SC 29853 (in Elko across from Elko Baptist Church near the intersection of Hwy 78 and Hwy 37).
