George Theron Livingston, 85, of North passed away peacefully on August 8, 2024, in the company of his family. Called Theron by his closest friends and family, he was a farmer and a rural mail carrier. He proudly worked for over two decades with his dearest friend Mr. EA Poole at the North Post Office. He was a man of Christ and proudly attended North United Methodist Church (formerly Beulah) his entire life. He had many talents and could fix or build just about anything. He had a fondness for animals and raised chickens, pigs, and cows while farming and collected quite a few four-legged friends along the way. He bled the postal service blue, John Deere green, Clemson orange, and was part boiled peanut with a fondness for making pecan pies and potato salad. He loved his wife Nancy and his family with all his heart.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, August 11, 2024, at North United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Toy and Lay Minister Charles Inglett. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 PM, one hour prior to the service in the Church sanctuary. Burial will follow in Pen Branch Cemetery.
He is predeceased by his son Jason Douglas Livingston, parents Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Livingston Sr, Brother and sisters-in-law Herman Festus, Jr. and Eleanor Gandy Livingston, Lanier Stokes and Ina Claire Livingston, sister-in-law Rebecca Gambell Livingston, and nephew Michael S. Livingston. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy Livingston of the home, son Patrick Livingston (Melissa) of Lexington, son Eric Wilson Livingston (Special friend Kaitlin Willow) of Chapel Hill, NC, grandson Brooks Livingston of Lexington, and Brother Marvin W. Livingston of Chapel Hill, NC as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lexington Medical Center as well as Dr. Reuben Mayer for many years of care. Also, the family would like to recognize the special friends and neighbors who helped him and Nancy so much throughout his life. He was a man of few words for sure, but he cherished his friends and family.
Memorials may be made to Pelion FFA, Pelion High School, SC0127, 600 Lydia Dr., Pelion, S. C. 29123.
