Gearlean Chavis

Mrs. Gearlean Chavis, 57, of North, died Friday, March 28, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 31, 2014, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery following the ceremony. Pallbearers will be Adam Roberts, Travis Roberts, Stephen Roberts, Hicks Roberts, Devan Hutto, Tony Chavis, Colie Hutto, Elvis Williams, Joshua Hoover, Lloyd Knight, William Knight and Kevin Knight. Mrs. Chavis was born in Greeneville, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Johnny Hicks Roberts and Easter Marie Free. She was a loving mother and the world’s best grandma and is survived by her husband, Ricky Chavis; four children, Jeffery Baughman, James Baughman, Karen Hoover and Michael Driggers; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.She had four sisters, Sarah Williams, Linda Roberts, Betty McIver, and Judia Knight; three brothers, Bobby Roberts, Jackie Roberts and Jimmy Shelton.She was predeceased by a brother, Johnny Roberts. The family will receive friends from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Sunday, March 30, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) and other times at the home 268 Cook Road, North.
