Fritz Albert Williams died Thursday, November 27th, 2014.Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, December 1, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Swansea, where he was Deacon Emeritus. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the church before the service.Rev. Terry Wilder will be officiating.Burial will be at Southland Memorial Gardens in West Columbia. Pallbearers will be grandsons Lee Jordan, Randall Jordan, Jonathan Shivers, Doug Williams, Brad Williams, Brock Williams and great-grandson Jared Jordan. Mr. Williams was born January 17th, 1919, a son of the late Eula Lee and Albert Williams. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and participated in the Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2012.He worked at Gibbs Machine Company for 41 years and retired in 1988. Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Mary S. Williams, and their four children and spouses:Myra and Wendell Jordan of Summerville, Sandra and Benny Shivers of Traveler’s Rest, Al and Carolyn Williams of Lexington , and Stephen Williams of Allentown, Pa;two sisters:Shirley Fallaw of Lexington, Dolly Bailey of Swansea, and brother Rufus Williams of Gaston.He took great joy in his 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by sisters Wanita Chavis, Verna Lee Rish, Willie Pearl Williams, Sue Dowd, and brothers W.T. Williams, L.C. Williams, and Junior Williams. Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church in Swansea or to Hospice Care of Tri-County at 105 Rodriguez Ct, Orangeburg, SC 29118.
