Francis Carroll Kennerly, Sr. April 6, 1936 - February 24, 2022 Swansea, South Carolina – Funeral Service will be held for Francis Carroll Kennerly, Sr., at St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 3:00 pm with Pastor H. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer United Methodist Church at Poole’s Mill Crossing. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service. Mr. Kennerly, husband of Jacqueline (“Jackie”) Manuel Kennerly, passed away February 24, 2022.Born in Swansea, SC, he was the third son of the late Carroll Kennerly and Leona Hutto Kennerly Bolen. Francis Carroll had a strong work ethic which was developed during his high school years: he delivered THE STATE Newspaper in the early morning hours, after which he drove a local school bus route, then attended classes at Swansea Public School (Lexington District #4) and drove the bus again after school.Francis Carroll was employed by the DuPont Savannah River Plant for 13 years, and later by Eastman Kodak Company in Columbia for 35 years. Francis Carroll was predeceased by his brothers Jerry Kennerly (9 years old) and James Kennerly (19, killed in the Battle of Iwo Jima). In addition to his wife (Jackie) of 66 years, Francis Carroll is survived by his older sister, Mary Leona Bonner of West Augusta, SC; son, Francis Carroll Kennerly Jr (Dan Hamilton) of Waynesboro, VA, and daughter, Brenda Carole Kennerly (Debbie Wooster) of Chapin, SC, and many nieces and nephews, as well as grand-nieces and grand-nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church, PO Box 219, Swansea, SC 29160.
