Eva Furtick Pees

Eva Furtick Pees, 92, of Swansea, died Saturday, August 17, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Lee Bowling officiating assisted by Rev. Alvin Haigler.Burial will be in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 3:00. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Mrs. Pees was born in Swansea, a daughter of the late Lewis and Florence Ott Furtick.She was retired from Lourie’s Department Store and was the oldest member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church which she attend for over sixty-five years.She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Howard Pees, Sr.She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. Survivors include three children, Howard (Sandra) Pees, Jr. of Cayce, Peggy L’Hoir (Bob Mott) of Gaston, and JoAnn (William) Hair of North; four grandchildren, Philip (Pilar) Pees of Charlotte, Christie (Jamie) Thomas of Lexington, Connie (Coley) Hebrard of Beaufort and Anne (Bryan) Sharpe of Swansea; eight grandchildren, Partick, Austin, Brittany, Matthew, Michael, Cassie, Samantha and Chris. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North (www.mcalhanyfuneralhome.com) The family would like to express their gratitude to National Health Care and Caris Hospice for their loving care.
